Department of Public Works
The Department of Public Works is headed by Shawn Berriault, Director of Public Works, and is comprised of five distinct operations: Engineering/Development Services, Maintenance Operations, Wastewater Operations, Water Operations and Building Permitting and Inspections.
Engineering/Development Services
(Vacant), Manager of Engineering Development works closely with Developers and their Consulting Engineers, reviewing plans for new residential, commercial, industrial and institutional development to ensure all services meet the Town Engineering Design Standards
Maintenance Operations
The municipal infrastructure assets consist of approximately 270 lane kms. of roads and 47 kms. of sidewalks. (Vacant), Manager of Public Works and Rick Dalziel, Manager of Maintenance Operations, lead a team of 13 dedicated maintenance operators and 3 mechanics in providing a variety of road maintenance and heavy equipment services throughout the Town. The Maintenance Operations division provide municipal services in several areas:

Road maintenance, including repairs, replacements, line painting, patching and crack sealing.

Sidewalk maintenance, including repairs, replacements, patching and grinding.

Curb repairs.

Sanitary and storm sewer maintenance.

Road side ditch maintenance.

Street and traffic signs including traffic signal lights.

Street lighting.

Snow ploughing and snow removal on roads, sidewalks and municipal parking lots.

Boulevard grass cutting and weed control.

Municipal tree maintenance.
