Public Hearings

  • The Committee of Council for Public Hearings on Planning Matters is comprised of all members of Council. Staff from the Planning and Engineering Departments are technical resources for the Committee.

  • Public Hearings are scheduled as required under the Planning Act, in order for the Committee of Council to hear applications for Official Plan Amendments or Zoning By-law Amendment Applications. The applicant will present the proposal, while the public and agencies that were notified of the application will have an opportunity to comment either in support of, or objection to, the application. Recommendations from the Committee are then forwarded to Council for consideration.
